Fraternal Order of Police, Clearwater Lodge 10 today became the second organization of public safety professionals to endorse Jack Latvala for the Florida Senate this week.

“It was very clear from the beginning that Jack Latvala, a long time resident of Pinellas, understands the needs of our County and State and is willing to work in cooperation with other citizens to create a strong, diversified, and prosperous future, where public safety is the cornerstone of economic growth,” said Jonathan Walser, President of FOP Lodge 10.

“I am honored that the FOP has joined the PBA in endorsing my candidacy for the State Senate. These are the two preeminent organizations of law enforcement professionals,” said Jack Latvala.

“Law enforcement officers know better than most what our efforts in the Senate did to help reduce crime in Florida. I helped enact the 85% rule which requires persons convicted of crimes to serve 85% of their sentences, 10-20-Life legislation which stiffened the penalties for those convicted of using a firearm in the commission of a crime, and ‘Three Strikes’ legislation that keeps career criminals behind bars,” added Latvala.
