Get your checkbooks ready, PAC chairs and Tallahassee uber-lobbyists, there are several fundraisers for legislative candidates planned for this week. In fact, this upcoming week may be the single busiest week of the year, in terms of Tallahassee fundraisers for legislative candidates.
First up is a fundraiser in Tallahassee benefiting Representatives Matt Caldwell, Dane Eagle, Heather Fitzenhagen, and Ray Rodrigues. The event is being hosted by the Florida Retail Federation at their offices at 227 Adams Street. The event begins at 5:30 p.m.
Also on Monday, there is a reception benefiting four freshmen ladies of the House – Heather Fitzenhagen, MaryLynn Magar, Kathleen Peters, and Holly Raschein. The event is slated for the Capitol Room of the Governor’s Club and begins at 5:00 p.m.
It will be a busy night on Adams Street on Tuesday as several incumbents have events planned.
The marquee draw may be the f’raiser for Speaker Designate Steve Crisafulli. I believe this is the first Tallahassee fundraiser for the man who will be Speaker in less than two years, so expect a crowd outside the Governor’s Club’s Capitol Room at 4:30 p.m.
The highlight of Wednesday night is the fundraiser planned for Senator Jeff Brandes. It will be held in the Capital Room of the Governor’s Club and begins at 5:00 p.m. Get there early as Brandes, the chair of the Senate’s Transportation Committee, is sure to attract a bevy of well-healed lobbyists.
Nine State Representatives from the First Coast, including Janet Adkins, Daniel Davis, Charles McBurney, Lake Ray, Doc Renuart, Charles Van Zant, Travis Cummings, and Travis Hutson, are part of a Wednesday night fundraiser at the Governor’s Club beginning at 5:00 p.m.
