Republicans planned Sunday to pay tribute to the late astronaut Neil Armstrong, who was the first person to walk on the moon.

Republican National Convention officials put together a video tribute to the astronaut using the 13 LED panels that are part of the stage where Mitt Romney is scheduled Thursday to formally accept the GOP nomination.

Armstrong, 82, died Saturday, “following complications resulting from cardiovascular procedures,” according to his family.”
