Gov. Rick Scott’s mood suggests he might be a little worried

Tampa Bay Times political editor Adam Smith stopped by a Cuban restaurant in West Tampa today to see what Gov. Rick Scott had up his sleeve on a last minute campaign tour through the Tampa Bay area. What he observed could be telling.

According to Smith, Scott’s campaign bus pulled up about 40 minutes early and was sans his campaigning buddy, Texas Gov. Rick Perry. Perry was supposed to be there, but bailed on the tour early. Smith said reporters, what few were there almost an hour before Scott was expected, asked if maybe Perry was a little nervous to which Scott replied, “we’re going to win.”

Smith noted that Scott barely smiled and his body language wasn’t what you’d expect from a candidate confident in a win.

Granted, Scott doesn’t exactly exude enthusiasm, but his kerfuffled performance in Tampa today might suggest he’s worried.
