Gov. Rick Scott has appointed four to the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council. The council covers four counties including Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Manatee.
The group is one of 11 regional planning councils across the state that aims to serve citizens and member governments by providing a forum to foster communication, coordination, and collaboration in identifying and addressing issues and needs regionally.
Scott appointed Robert “Pete” Edwards of Tampa to a vacant seat. The retired drug court counselor begins his term March 17.
Tampa Attorney Jacob Cremer has also been appointed to succeed Kim Vance.
Wesley Chapel vice president of business development for Florida for Batson-Cook Co. Frank Rygiel will take over for Earl Young.
Another vacant seat will be filled by David Dunbar. Dunbar is the chairs the board of People’s Bank.
All of the appointments began Tuesday and run through October 1 of this year. Dunbar will serve a potentially longer term and his service will end at the pleasure of Scott.
All appointments are subject to confirmation by the Senate.
