Gov. Rick Scott won’t attend Republican Party of Florida events Friday and Saturday in Lake Buena Vista as Tropical Storm Karen threatens to cause damage in the state this weekend, party spokeswoman Susan Hepworth announced.
Scott was scheduled to speak Friday night during the RPOF’s 2013 Statesman’s Dinner at Walt Disney Contemporary Resort and attend the quarterly executive board meeting Saturday. The governor’s office changed Scott’s schedule Friday morning to add storm-preparation activities.
The changes included a call with U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx and afternoon briefings with Florida Division of Emergency Management Director Bryan Koon.
