The Greater Tampa Realtors announced on Thursday that they are endorsing Sandy Murman in the Hillsborough County Commission District 1 seat against Democrat Jeff Zampitella.

“GTR is honored to offer its support to Sandy Murman for Hillsborough County Commission, District 1,“ said Andy Joe Scaglione, GTR president. “Real estate makes up the foundation of Hillsborough County and ensures that residents have a healthy housing market. Sandy Murman has the experience necessary to understand the needs of our organization and has proven herself as a leader in the Hillsborough County community.”

The organization represents 9,000 members and is the largest Tampa Bay-based professional association of real estate brokers and sales associates conducting business throughout the Bay area.

“I am incredibly thankful for the endorsement from Greater Tampa Realtors,” said Sandy Murman. “The real estate industry is an important part of the community and I look forward to continue representing their interests and the interests of Hillsborough County District 1 citizens.”

Murman is running for District 1 for the third time. She won the open seat against Democrat John Dingfelder in 2010, and again in 2012. She has served as chair of the board from November of 2014 to November of 2015, and is involved with a number of issues in local government while serving on the Board of County Commissioners. She previously served eight years in the Florida House from 1996-2004.
