Dropping the gauntlet in an upcoming battle over a proposed amendment, a coalition of anti-abortion groups on Monday launched their “Yes on 6” campaign to urge passage of a constitutional amendment that would allow Florida lawmakers to pass parental consent requirements for teenagers seeking abortions, reports the News Service of Florida. The group led by Citizens for Protecting Taxpayers and Parental Rights, backed Amendment Six, which would specifically exempt abortions from the privacy clause of the state’s constitution. The clause has been used by critics to strike down earlier parental consent laws.
