Gwen Graham releases two ads blasting false claims by Steve Southerland

False attacks from Republican Congressman Steve Southerland’s are coming under fire in two new ads released today by Democratic challenger Gwen Graham.

ā€œOne thing about Congressman Steve Southerlandā€ Graham says. ā€œHe’ll say just about anything to get reelected.ā€

Graham and Southerland areĀ locked in a tight race for Florida’s 2nd Congressional District.

The new 30-second spots highlight the Republican incumbent’s lies, and makes clear that Graham never voted for Obamacare and does not support cuts to Medicare. Instead, Graham promises to work with both Republicans and Democrats to end Congressional dysfunction.

ā€œTake Obamacare,ā€ she says. ā€œI wasn’t in Congress when they voted on Obamacare.Ā AndĀ both parties got it wrong.ā€

Graham calls for Congress to try ā€œcommon sense solutions for a change.ā€

In addition, the Democrat from Tallahassee hasĀ consistentlyĀ called for incremental fixes to Obamacare, which includes theĀ Republican “Keep Your Health Plan Act” which guarantee consumers can keep their healthcare plan if they liked it.

She opposes cuts to Medicare, and pledges to protect the program.

Southerland, Graham says, has changed his position after a recent clip surfaced of the two-term GOP incumbent admitting heĀ purchasedĀ ObamacareĀ insurance on the DC Marketplace.

Through the marketplace, Southerland enjoyed the same ā€œspecial privilegesā€ (taxpayer-funded healthcare subsidies), the same reason he voted to shut down the government last October and to end Medicare’s guaranteed benefits and raise seniors’ out-of-pocket costs by thousands.

Ā “One Thing” and “Period” are both available on YouTube.
