Andy Gardiner goes all Hank Aaron today (Wednesday) he turns 44.I’ve worked with Andy and Camille on their campaigns since the first House race in 2000.Andy had a four-way primary, a runoff, and a general that Presidential election year. It was good basic campaigning, all about what he would do for the district. He and Camille worked so hard, knocking on doors in the same neighborhood where he grew up, relentless, never willing to accept anything less than winning. Through the years, have seen them add Andrew, Joanna and Kathryn to the family, and Christina and I have greatly enjoyed their friendship throughout these years – – these are good people who like so many legislative families on both sides of the aisle give so much for the right reasons. They have been through much, and they handle it all with smiles and resolve. In short, Florida needs more Gardiners. Has a good ring to it.
Political consultant extraordinaire David Johnson reminds us that today is Senate President Designate Andy Gardiner’s birthday. Johnson shared with me a wonderful note which I hope he doesn’t mind me sharing with my readers:
