Happy birthday to uber-spox Danny Kanner, one of our favorite New Yorkers

Honestly, it seems like we hardly knew the affable Danny Kanner, spokesman for Charlie Crist’s quixotic run for the US Senate in 2010.  But he sure did leave quite an impression on those of us fortunate enough to get to know him.  In fact, he showed a lot of us what it meant to be a feisty, witty press secretary — the type we see on CSPAN or reruns of The West Wing — rather than the kind of hapless flak who populates too many of the campaigns here in Florida.

Kanner, a veteran of the Bloomberg administration, along with other stints in the Big Apple, is still working in New York, undoubtedly telling all of those damn Yankess just how truly crazy we all are down here in Florida.

Michelle and I were fortunate enough to already see Danny twice this year; first at our wedding, then our honeymoon in NYC, where Danny was cheering on his beloved Giants. It was very good to see him.

Happy birthday, Danny.
