Republican voters looking to replace incumbent Democratic state Rep. Linda Stewart in House District 47 remain largely undecided between the two primary opponents, according to the latest polling by StPetePolls.
In that survey, taken July 15 and commissioned by SaintPetersBlog, more than 57 percent of likely GOP Primary voters say they are undecided between Mike Miller and Maurice โMoโ Pearson.
Nevertheless, among those who state a preference, Miller leads Pearson by a margin of 36-6 percent in the district covering much of Orange County, East Orlando, Winter Park and Belle Isle.
Voters are also split somewhat evenly over Florida Constitutional Amendment 2, a measure seeking to legalize medical marijuana in November. HD 47 Republicans lean slightly for approval, 47 percent to 46 percent disapprove, with 7 percent still undecided.
StPetePolls randomly chose respondents within the HD 47 registered Republican voter population listed as of June 6. Only voters saying they were planning to cast a ballot were included in the results.
The survey sample size was 311, and the poll has a +/- 5.6 percent margin of error at 95 percent confidence level.
