HD 65 hopeful Chris Sprowls reaches $207K in final primary fundraising

Chris Sprowls finished the primary season well ahead of all comers in fundraising for the House District 65 race against incumbent Democrat Rep. Carl “Z” Zimmerman.

The Tarpon Springs Republican added another $12,665 from Aug. 9-21 for an overall total of $206,716.

According to the most recent reporting from the state Division of Elections Sprowls spent $14,358 in the 13-day reporting period for nearly $192,331 in total expenditures to date. That leaves him with $16,386 cash on hand.

At the same time, Zimmerman raised $925, for a total of $79,251, less than 40 percent of that raised by Sprowls. He also received just over $2,000 in-kind support.

Zimmerman also spent $439 during the reporting period, for overall expenditures of $14,551, leaving him with cash on hand of $64,800.

Sprowls’ GOP contender, Debbie Faulkner, added $775, bringing her total to $11,657.

HD 65 covers parts of north Pinellas County, Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, Palm Harbor and East Lake.
