House District 65 hopeful Chris Sprowls is calling on friends and supporters to join him for the last petition walk in the election cycle to qualify for the November ballot.

“I intend to qualify for the November ballot by getting enough hard working Floridians to sign petitions for me,” Sprowls said in an email to supporters, “but I cannot do it alone.”

Sprowls is running to unseat incumbent Democrat Rep. Carl “Z” Zimmermann in the district covering the cities of Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, Palm Harbor and East Lake. To date, Sprowls has 970 verified petition signatures of the 1,165 needed to make it to the ballot without paying the Florida-mandated $1,781.82 fee for partisan candidates in state representative races.

The petition walk is on Saturday, March 29 with a meeting of participants starting 9:30 a.m. at 30535 US 19 North in the Seabreeze Plaza, located at the Publix Parking Lot at Curlew Rd. and US Hwy. 19.

Until then, supporters can download a petition form and print it for friends and family in the community to sign. Sprowls asks participants to bring the forms with them on Saturday.

Sprowls is a graduate of the Stetson University College of Law and previously served as chair of the American Bar Association’s Law Student Division, representing 60,000 members. He serves as a prosecutor for Florida’s Sixth Judicial Circuit, assigned to the Gang Unit. Sprowls’ litigation experience includes successfully prosecuting dozens of cases such as drug trafficking, crimes against children, and murder.
