It’s a brand-new year and a brand-new opportunity to shine as St. Petersburg defends its title as AmericanStyle’s number one Top 25 Arts Destination for mid-size U.S. cities in the magazine’s annual reader’s poll. Last year’s results catapulted St. Petersburg 22 places to number one after spending nine years on the Top 25 Arts list, closely followed by New Orleans, Alexandria, Va., and Chattanooga, all of whom saw radical position changes from 2009.

“It’s a tribute to the commitment of members of our tightly-knit arts community, visitors and residents who appreciate and patronize the St. Petersburg arts scene that we were able to achieve this honor,” said St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster.
