The Hillary Clinton campaign will stop in Florida in early October to hold a ritzy fundraiser at the Fort Lauderdale residence of longtime Clinton supporters and Democratic mega-donors Sharon and Mitchell Berger.
An entry-level ticket to the October 2 event, which includes a photo opportunity with the former secretary of state, will set attendees back $2,700, the maximum an individual can contribute to a campaign by law.
Raising $15,000 in campaign cash will get donors into the host reception with Clinton, while a $27,000 fundraising effort will include a membership to the “Hillstarter” program, a name the Clinton campaign assigned to its crowd-funding initiatives.
Including political committee money pledged in support, Clinton had raised about $67.8 million for her presidential run through the quarterly reporting period ending July 31. While her fundraising numbers put her far ahead of her Democratic competitors, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush holds the top spot among declared candidates with $120 million.
