Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be in Florida next month, raising expectations she is moving closer to a 2016 White House run, writes Lucy McCalmont of Politico.
Clinton will deliver remarks at the University of Miami on Wednesday, Feb. 26 for an exclusive event for the UM campus and invited guests. Her speech starts at 8:30 p.m., with tickets available for students, faculty, staff and guests.
The release does not specify what topics or issues Clinton will discuss.
McCalmont notes that UM President Donna Shalala served as Secretary of Health and Human Services in Bill Clinton’s administration. Shalala, president since 2001, is close friends with the Clintons.
This will be the first time Clinton has spoken at UM since 2008, when she addressed a rally in the BankUnited Center just before ending her presidential campaign.
