Hillsborough County State Attorney Mark Ober announced today his endorsement of former Rep. Shawn Harrison in the quest to recover State House District 63.
Harrison again faces incumbent Rep. Mark Danish for the seat covering parts of north Hillsborough County.
“Shawn Harrison took some tough votes in favor of law enforcement and prosecution in Tallahassee,” Ober said in an email announcing his endorsement. “He understands how to make our communities safer. I am pleased to offer my endorsement of his campaign for the Florida House.”
Harrison lost to Danish in 2012 after serving only one time in the House.
“I have known Mark for over 20 years,” Harrison responded. “I worked with him in the 2011 and 2012 sessions as we took action to strengthen our criminal justice system.”
Ober joins a group of Harrison’s GOP supporters, which include Hillsborough County Commissioners Victor Crist, Sandy Murman, and Mark Sharpe, former Councilwoman Mary Alvarez and past Tampa Mayor Dick Greco, as well as State Sens. Bill Galvano and John Legg.
