House District 63 candidate Shawn Harrison has nabbed a 13-point lead over incumbent Mark Danish, according to a recent St. Pete Polls survey of 398 likely voters.
Harrison, a Tampa attorney, leads his Democratic opponent 53 percent to 30 percent; 7 percent of respondents were undecided.
District 63 covers Tampa and other parts of Hillsborough County.
That district is also favoring Gov. Rick Scott over Democrat Charlie Crist. The two-point 45 percent to 43 percent lead is not statistically significant though. Libertarian Adrian Wylie is polling at 9 percent.
The St. Pete Polls survey was conducted by phone on Monday, Oct. 14 using registered voter lists supplied by the state of Florida as of Sept. 4. There’s a margin of error of 4.9 percent.
