House GOP votes to slash funding for political science

in Uncategorized by

Led by Rep. Jeff Flake, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to cut funding for the National Science Foundation’s political science program, which The Monkey Cage says “funds many valuable data collection efforts including the National Election Studies. No other program was singled out like this.”

Insider Higher Ed points out that several of the projects that Flake singled out “touch on issues such as whether policy makers do what citizens want, and why young people don’t seem interested in going into politics.”
