Mark down the day and time because I’m about to write something critical about Charlie Crist.
I kinda, sorta agree with the criticism of Crist’s reference (in his Tweet announcing his party switch) to the White House as the “home of President @BarackObama!”
I’m just surprised Crist phrased his Tweet that way. As National Review’s Jay Nordinger wonders, “didn’t some good old-fashioned civics teacher tell (Crist) that the White House is the home of all Americans, though it houses a president for a term or two?”
As a politician who can’t go more than three paragraphs without referring to something — anything — as “the people’s”, Crist seemed to momentarily forget the populism he literally embodies.
Perhaps the headiness of the moment got to him.
