ICYMI: Lindsay Peterson leaves Tampa Trib, Travis Pillow now at the Tally Democrat

Two personnel notes from the ever-changing world of political journalism.

As noted on her Facebook page, Tampa Tribune reporter Lindsay Peterson has left the newspaper. Peterson’s portfolio included higher education, especially news emanating from the University of South Florida (a beat which often intersected with the world of politics; thank you Senator JD Alexander).

Another transition I just caught up on is that Travis Pillow is now covering Florida’s capital and education policy for the Tallahassee Democrat. Pillow’s first day for the Democrat was July 9. Pillow previously was with online news site The Florida Current. I find Travis’s writing to be especially insightful, so be sure to check out his stuff, especially his Twitter account at @TravisPillow.

Peter Schorsch is the President of Extensive Enterprises and is the publisher of some of Florida’s most influential new media websites, including SaintPetersBlog.com, FloridaPolitics.com, ContextFlorida.com, and Sunburn, the morning read of what’s hot in Florida politics. SaintPetersBlog has for three years running been ranked by the Washington Post as the best state-based blog in Florida. In addition to his publishing efforts, Peter is a political consultant to several of the state’s largest governmental affairs and public relations firms. Peter lives in St. Petersburg with his wife, Michelle, and their daughter, Ella.
