If you wonder why people “hate” the media, this screenshot from the Tampa Bay Times is one reason

If you ever wondered why people hate the media, this is why.

This was the home page for “Florida’s Best Newspaper” a few hours ago:

The big header on the left is the “story” of former professional wrestler Hulk Hogan, his sex tape, and some lawsuit nobody gives a damn about.  On the right is a heartbreaking story of Army Spc. Brittany B. Gordon who died in Afghanistan.  She is the first woman from the Tampa Bay area killed there.

Like all the stories of the men and women who have died fighting our wars, it is tragic and awful.

And why it is minimized to make room for about as tawdry and cheap a story as you could find, I’ll never know.

Shame on the Tampa Bay Times.  Specialist Gordon deserved better.  As did we all.
