In H-52, Sean Scott raised $4,375

Political newcomer Sean Scott (R) raised a decent $4,375 in his first months on the campaign trail. More important than that, however, is the $2,000 expenditure Scott made on December 20 to retain The Mallard Group, the political consulting firm that represents Rep. Frank Farkas, the current office-holder in District 52. In fact, Scott has been seen around town with key Farkas advisor Chris Davis. The Mallard Group had previously worked with Ross Johnson in this race, but that relationship appears to be severed. Word has it that Mr. Johnson is under intense pressure from at least two Pinellas County elected officials to drop out of the race, while also facing resistance from local Realtors, who are not happy with Johnson’s recent letter-to-the-editor re: the proposed increase on gas taxes.
