In new ad, Alex Sink takes McCollum, Scott to task over negative campaigning

in Uncategorized by

Alex Sink has been largely overshadowed by the bitter battle between GOP primary opponents Rick Scott and Bill McCollum. And that, it seems, is just the way she likes it.

“Hey, Rick? Bill?” narrates Sink’s latest campaign ad. “It’s supposed to be a race for governor, not a race to the bottom.”

Attacking each other has boosted both Republican candidates’ negative ratings. In an Aug. 4 Rasumssen poll, Scott and McCollum were rated “very unfavorably” by 31 percent and 23 percent of voters, respectively.

Sink’s new ad takes advantage of this by assembling a montage of negative news reports about the GOP mud-slinging.

For her part, Sink has made it through the primary season mostly unscathed. Rasmussen’s poll gives her a “very unfavorable” rating of a mere nine percent.
