Incoming House Speaker Steve Crisafulli’s committee eclipses $3 million raised

“House Republican Campaign Committee,” an affiliated party committee chaired by incoming House Speaker Steve Crisafulli raised about $3 million during the 2014 election cycle, according to the state Division of Elections.

From Aug. 22 – Oct. 30, the group brought in $385,500 for a total of $3,033,974, reporting $2,376,484 in expenditures for the period, bringing it to $2,923,974 overall.

A majority of spending for the final reporting period was to the Republican Party of Florida totaling about $1.34 million.

Crisafulli’s committee also gave to a number of Republican parties, as well as individual GOP House candidates, with a high of $45,000 for the campaign of St. Cloud Republican Rep. Mike La Rosa.

If he wins re-election on Tuesday in his Broward County District 51 seat, Crisafulli will become House speaker in November.
