Yesterday, the Miami Herald‘s Marc Caputo asked whether the law and lobbying firm of Becker & Poliakoff was “crazy” or just “loyal” for proudly hosting a fundraiser for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Nan Rich.
The answer to that question is unclear, maybe because the firm is actually bi-polar.
One day after the story broke about Bernie Friedman hosting the event for Rich comes the invitation below from Alan Becker, the name partner of B & P, to a fundraiser for the Scott re-election committee, “Let’s Get to Work.” (The invite is for a luncheon on Halloween, because what better way to celebrate that holiday than raising money for a Governor made fun of for looking like Gollum, Skeletor, and Lord Voldermort.)
Anyway … releasing the invite about this fundraiser for Scott sure does seem like an effort by Becker & Poliakoff to assure folks that it’s still part of the team. In fact, as Caputo suggests in his blog post, Beceker & Poliakoff may actually be helping Scott by “propping up Rich in an effort to combat former Republican-turned-Democrat Gov. Charlie Crist, who is likely to run.”
