This bill has NOTHING to do with "convenience" it is all about Walmart getting the upper hand in the liquor business in Florida over ABC and all the independents and running them out of business like they have done to most competitors in every retails segment. Hard liquor is grocery stores without a separate entrance or being sold in a confined area would open a flood of massive theft issues by minors. Walmart has the highest shrink(theft) rate in retail as it is now add hard liquor on the shelves next to diapers and formula and the under 21 crowd from Florida's 20 Million residents and 100 Million tourists would have a field day. Funny part is Walmart is suing the State of Texas right now for the fight to even sell hard liquor in Texas and in that proposal it will be sold in a separate area away from the regular items like here in Florida. So Walmart is suing to sell hard liquor and are OK with a separate entrance in Texas but not here in Florida? Obviously this is about money pure and simple and not public safety. The Florida Sheriff's Association, MADD, FISA(Independent Liquor Store Group), ABC Liquor and Publix Supermarkets are against changing the law. This is not about "convenience" it is about pure greed and profit and Walmart wants every penny for themselves! Stop this Bill NOW!
