The Tampa Bay Times has answered the question who will replace Eric Deggans as the newspaper’s TV critic: Sean Daly AND Michelle Stark AND Joshua Gillin AND Sharon Kennedy Wynne .
In a blog post on The Feed — formerly Deggans’ blog about TV and the media — Daly and Stark explain that with Deggans now the TV critic at NPR, “we’re sure as heck not turning off the tube. Instead, we are reinforcing our channel-surfing expertise to keep you sated with all manner of Walking Dead wonkery and Mad Men minutiae. And of course, we can’t resist the antics of local folks on reality shows, plus other local TV news. “
Even though I will miss Deggans’ reporting, the announcement that Daly will be expanding his role at the Times is welcome news. He’s one of the biggest personalities at the newspaper (and was my pick to replace Howard Troxler as the Times’ lead metro columnist). I am not familiar with Stark’s or Kennedy’s work, but Gillin is solid.
Looks like I am going to have to keep my bookmark on The Feed.
