State Rep. Janet Cruz joins more than 90 employers as she hosts the annual Tampa Job Fair, targeting job placement for unemployed Hispanic and African-Americans in House District 62.
The job fair, which is now in its fifth year, is on Wednesday, July 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Higgins Hall, 5225 North Himes Avenue in Tampa. The event is free and open to the public.
Connecting employers with prospective employees helps the Tampa Democrat honor her commitment to focus on jobs.
“My primary focus is putting people back to work,” said Cruz. “Every year, this event is one of the most important things that I can do for my district and the Tampa community.
“I hope that every person that walks through the door looking for a job finds success.”
As part of the event — known in Spanish as “feria del empleo” — community organizations will be available to provide a variety of services, such as resume review, wardrobe tips for interviews, registering to vote, immigration status assistance, insurance options for children, and more.
Cruz’s HD 62 includes parts of Hillsborough County and much of the Town-N-Country neighborhood.
