According to exclusive poll results obtained by this blog, Democratic incumbent Janet Long holds a narrow seven point lead over political newcomer Republican Larry Ahern.  Long leads Ahern 38% – 31% according to this poll taken on March 17 & 18  and has a margin of error of 4.9%.  Keep in mind, this is not my poll, so I cannot verify the polls’ results, but my source for this information is from the same source which provided the spot-on polling data during the St. Petersbug Mayoral Race.  Long maintains a precarious Favorable/Unfavorable ratio, while Ahern is largely unknown to most voters.

Janet Long

Very Favorable/Somewhat Favorable 24%

Very Unfavorable/Somewhat Unfavorable 19%

Larry Ahern

Very Favorable/Somewhat Favorable 13%

Very UnFavorable/Somewhat Favorable 7%
