Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush took to Twitter on Thursday evening to subtlety poke … his mom.
“What date is Mother’s Day this year?” Bush tweeted. “Asking for a friend.”
Bush was having fun with former first lady and family matriarch Barbara Bush, who, in an appearance on C-Span, reiterated her opinion that she did not want Jeb to run for the White House in 2016, saying that “we’ve had enough Bushes.”
“I think this is a great American country, great country, and if we can’t find more than two or three families to run for high office,” Barbara Bush said. “That’s silly, because there are great governors and great eligible people to run. And I think that the Kennedys, Clintons, Bushes, there are just more families than that.”
Sounds like Jeb needs to send his mom some flowers — and he shouldn’t wait until Mother’s Day (which is May 11, in case you were wondering.)
