State Sen. Jeff Brandes holds his title as one of the state’s top fundraisers in Florida Senate races, by adding another $25,240 to his campaign for Oct. 11-17.
According to recently filed Division of Election reports, the St. Petersburg Republican has now brought his total to $745,146 for his re-election effort in District 22.
Brandes faces Democrat Judithanne McLauchlan, who during the same weeklong period took in $14,305 – with another $2,153 from the Florida Democratic Party for campaign staff support.
The University of Florida St. Petersburg political science professor has a total of $283,848 in overall contributions.
Brandes also dominates in cash on hand for the lead-in to Nov. 4; after spending about nearly $500K in expenditures, he still has over $246K in the bank to finish his campaign — more than 86 percent of McLauchlan’s entire campaign take.
In comparison, McLauchlan’s campaign has cost her almost $269K so far, leaving her with just under $14,500.
