Former state Rep. Jim Frishe reported another solid month of campaign fundraising.
The 66-year-old, one of two GOP candidates officially running for Pinellas County’s property appraiser, collected $3,700 in contributions for the month of August, bringing his campaign’s total donation amount up to $23,765.
Frishe’s only competition for the Pinellas property appraiser position, 48-year-old Republican Mike Twitty, held a roughly 150-person fundraiser late last month, but has yet to submit his August finance report to the Supervisor of Elections.
Twitty, the 25-year state-certified general real estate appraiser, has earned the endorsement of outgoing Property Appraiser Pam Dubov, who decided not to run for re-election last year.
Of the eight checks Frishe received last month, one was for $200, two were for $250, four were for $500, and one was for the maximum allowable $1,000.
Robert Stambaugh, an attorney from St. Pete Beach, donated $200, while construction executive Alan Bomstein and the Craig Duncan Insurance Agency — both based out of Clearwater — each gave $250.
Praesum Healthcare Services, in Lake Worth, contributed $500 to the Frishe campaign, as did Robert Doyle, a CPA from St. Petersburg. Both the Florida Organization of Agents PAC and the Ramba Consulting Group — each headquartered in Tallahassee — also gave $500.
The $1,000 donation to the Frishe campaign came from the Ronald Book P.A. law firm, in Aventura.
No money was declared to have been spent by the Frishe camp this past month, though over the prior four months, campaign expenses have mainly gone toward envelopes and printing — a little over $1,000 in total, presumably for mailers.
The job both men will be fighting for pays around $154,000 per year. The state’s 2016 general election falls on Nov. 8.
