The shrimp is about to boil in the 2nd Congressional District race. The Gwen Graham campaign Monday announced that Florida singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett will join Graham at a get-out-the vote rally Wednesday, Oct. 29.
“We’re very excited to have a true Florida icon helping encourage people to vote for Gwen’s positive message of hard work and cooperation,” said Graham campaign spokesman Eric Conrad.
Graham is challenging second–term Republican Congressman Steve Southerland for the 2nd District seat. The race is considered a toss-up with about $700,000 spent on Southerland’s behalf and more than $1 million on Graham’s behalf so far.
Jimmy Buffett is expected to perform a short acoustic set at the Graham rally at the Moon nightclub in Tallahassee. Tickets will be distributed first-come first serve starting and voters can picked up a ticket at Graham’s offices in Tallahassee, Jackson County and Panama City starting Monday, Oct. 20 at 5:00 p.m. A limited number of tickets are available.
