John Legg, who recently announced his candidacy for Senate District 17, hit the ground running this week rolling out an impressive list of supporters from Pasco County, representing the who’s who of Pasco leaders.

“Wow – is the first word that comes to mind,” exclaimed Legg.  “And next is humble.  I am truly grateful to have such a wonderful list of Pasco public servants endorsing my campaign and standing beside me in my bid for the Senate.  These elected leaders represent some of the very best in Florida, and I am proud and humbled by the immediate outpouring of support.”

The list of supporters announced today included: Senator Mike Fasano (R-New Port Richey), Representative Richard Corcoran (R-New Port Richey), Representative Robert C. “Rob” Schenck (R-Spring Hill), Pasco County Commissioner Ann Hildebrand, Pasco County Commissioner Pat Mulieri, Pasco County Commissioner Jack Mariano, Pasco County Property Appraiser Mike Wells, Allen Altman and Cynthia Armstrong of the Pasco County School Board and Mayor Steve Van Gordon, City of Zephyrhills.

“John Legg knows what it takes to be a true public servant and to stand up for the people that have stood up for him,” said Senator Fasano.  “John is the right man for the job and the best candidate to fight for what is best for our area in Tallahassee.  I wish John well in the coming weeks and months, and plan to shake hands and knock doors with him!”

“I have served with John Legg in the House and know firsthand how hard he works and his dogged determination when he is fighting for his constituents,” said Representative Corcoran.  “John is a true leader and the right man at the right time.”

“Pasco County has always had a strong voice in Tallahassee, and that tradition can be continued if we send John Legg to the Senate to serve,” said Representative Schenck.  “John has my full support!”

Legg’s support was also echoed by key Pasco local government leaders.  “I stand with John Legg and am ready to spread the word to Pasco voters that John is the best candidate for our community,” said Commissioner Hildebrand.

“John knows how to tackle tough issues in Tallahassee,” said Property Appraiser Wells.  “From reigning in pain clinics and prescription drug abuse, to helping balance the state budget, John gets the job done and does not back down.”

Focusing on John Legg’s strong stance on education and his noted education background as a former classroom teacher and administrator, Pasco County School Board Members Cynthia Armstrong and Allen Altman also heralded John as the top candidate for Senate District 17, which includes parts of South Pasco and Northwest Hillsborough Counties.  Altman touted: “Education must be one of our top priorities and John Legg knows that a strong economy is built upon a strong education foundation – and that is why I am behind John Legg for State Senate.”

“Let’s send John to Tallahassee to give Pasco and our communities a loud, effective voice,” concluded Mayor Van Gordon.
