Senator John Thrasher tonight was victorious in the race for the newly-drawn Florida Senate District 6 seat, which includes all of St. Johns, Flagler and Putnam Counties, as well as Northern Volusia County.

“I thank the voters of Senate District 6 who turned out in support of our mission to grow our job base, advance our schools, reduce government spending and not raise taxes on hardworking Floridians,” said Thrasher.  “I am excited to have the opportunity to be the trusted, conservative voice that Northeast Floridians can count on in the Florida Senate to better our local community and great state.”

“I congratulate Senator Thrasher on his victory tonight,” said Senate President-designate Don Gaetz.  “John Thrasher is the Lion of the Senate – the power authoritative voice that commands respect across the aisle and across the state.  I am proud that he will be returning to Tallahassee to serve the good people of Northeast Florida as a leader in the Republican caucus.  Senator Thrasher is a true conservative and his focus on creating jobs, helping our communities flourish and advancing our education system in Florida is unwavering.”
