Burgin, 35, of Plant City, has been the vice president of information technology and social media for the Holtec USA Corporation since 2008. Previously, he was a consultant for Frontier Mining Ltd. from 2007 to 2008 and Kazakhstan director for the International Republican Institute from 2005 to 2007. From 2004 to 2005, he was a legislative aide for the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, and from 2002 to 2003, he was a legislative analyst for the Florida House of Representatives. He succeeds John A. Byczek and is appointed for a term beginning February 6, 2012, and ending October 31, 2012.
Melendez, 41, of Tampa, has been an engineering consultant with CPH Engineers Inc. since 2004. Melendez received bachelor’s degrees from Florida State University and the University of South Florida. He succeeds Alison A. Hewitt and is appointed for a term beginning February 6, 2012, and ending October 31, 2012.
