Judithanne McLauchlan has raised more than $250,000 in her effort to unseat Sen. Jeff Brandes in the November election, according to the state Division of Elections. The Madeira Beach Democrat raised $10,779 from Sept. 27 to Oct. 3, for a total of $253,257.
As of Oct. 3, McLauchlan also had spent $229,381.
McLauchlan and Brandes are facing off in Senate District 22, which covers Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties.
Although Brandes’ updated totals are pending as of Thursday evening, he still maintains a major fundraising edge. As of Sept. 26, he had raised $672,736 and spent $438,786. Candidates and political committees face a Friday deadline for filing finance reports
