Embattled Rep. Kendrick Meek wants more than just to play a “role” at a Democratic event in Florida headlined by President Barack Obama later this month.
“Meek was told he’d have a prominent role and he’s expecting the president to strongly reaffirm his endorsement,” a Meek campaign source told POLITICO.
The comment came as the White House confirmed the congressman will be at the Aug. 18 event, after notices for it went out and listed some special guests, but not Meek. Sources close to the White House insist he will be involved.
