MobilexUSA, a medical technology company that provides x-ray and laboratory services to nursing homes and other care centers, has added 50 jobs to its Largo location.

The job expansion brings to 130 the number of employees at the site, 13773 Icot Blvd. in the Icot Business Center. The job expansion was brought about in part from a companywide consolidation of seven call centers down to three.

TridentUSA Health Services, the parent company of Mobilex, decided to retain and expand the Largo center because of the available pool of potential employees and the location, said David Velez, executive vice president. The company also had room to expand its operation at the site.

“I’m really glad to see you’re bringing 50 more folks to Pinellas,” Republican state Sen. Jack Latvala said during a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday. “You’re the kind of industry everyone wants. There’s no smoke stacks…water discharges. [It’s] environmentally sound.”

MobilexUSA provides x-rays, ultrasounds, laboratory and other such medical services to residents of more than 7,000 nursing home in 44 states. The company takes the -ray and other medical equipment to the patient at the nursing home. The company’s technicians are able to immediately transmit x-rays and other images to the patient’s doctor for immediate evaluation. The services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Mobilex has been serving patients in healthcare facilities and institutions for more than 35 years. It employs more than 1,200 licensed technologists and sonographers.
