Larry Metz files for 2016 run

State Rep. Larry Metz, who did not draw opposition this year, filed paperwork for another run in 2016, according to the Florida Division of Elections.

First elected to the House in 2010, the Yalaha Republican represents Lake County’s House District 32. A campaign account allows Metz to raise money for his 2016 re-election effort.

Ocala Democrat Pamela Payton also filed an account to run in House District 23. Republican Rep. Dennis Baxley, currently holds the Marion County HD 23 seat, but expects to run for the Senate in 2016. Sixteen candidates have now filed to run for the House in 2016.
