Friends and supporters of attorney Laura Ward will hold a fundraiser to celebrate the one-year mark until the Hillsborough County primary elections. She is running for an open seat as Judge Sam Pedino is retiring from the bench.

The party will begin Monday, August 26, at 6:30 p.m. in the Tampa Bay Brewing Company, located at 1600 East 8th Avenue in Ybor City.

Ward, a Tampa native, is a commercial litigator at DLA Piper, recognized by Florida Super Lawyers since 2010 and serves as pro bono Director of the Veterans’ Legal Services Clinic at the Haley VA Hospital in Tampa.

Ward is also the 2013 recipient of the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s “Outstanding Young Lawyer.” Endorsing Ward are more than 340 members of the Tampa Bay legal community.

“Serving as a Hillsborough County Circuit Court Judge will be a privilege that I will honor by being prepared, listening astutely and rendering impartial justice by following the rule of law,” Ward said on her website.

Organizers invite participants to RSVP at [email protected], call (813) 892-3416 or visit www.lauraWardforJudge.com for more information.
