House Bill 605, sponsored by Representative Matt Hudson, is on the agenda for today’s House Health Quality Subcommittee meeting.
The bill seeks to close a loophole in Florida’s workers’ compensation system that allows physicians to repackage medications and charge employers exorbitant prices, far exceeding the statutory reimbursement for the same pharmaceuticals dispensed by pharmacies. The bill’s companion, Senate Bill 662 by Senator Alan Hays, is on the agenda for tomorrow’s Senate Banking and Insurance Committee. The proposals are among the top priorities for the Associated Industries of Florida’s Workers’ Compensation Coalition.
