Joe Wicker announced the first in a long line of endorsements for his campaign for the State House of Representatives in District 59. Wicker will be running in the Republican Primary on August 14.

“I am humbled by the endorsements from these respected community leaders. Their support is an important first step in mounting a successful campaign,” Wicker said.

The endorsements include Republican State Representatives Greg Steube and Shawn Harrison, Republican Hillsborough County Commissioners Al Higginbotham and Mark Sharpe and former Republican State Representative Trey Traviesa.

“Not only has Joe Wicker bravely fought for his country in Iraq, achieving the rank of Captain and serving as a Tank Platoon Leader, he has succeeded in the business world as well as a manager for International Paper in charge of over $20 million in supply chain services. He has the perfect combination of real world experience needed to do this important job,” said Representative Harrison.

“My message of making government do more with fewer tax dollars resonates with voters and elected officials from all over our communities.  I am encouraged by such a commanding start,” said Wicker.
