Former state representative Leslie Waters is launching her campaign for the Seminole City Commission next week with a fundraiser at Ambrosia next Thursday, January 15, 2009, beginning at 5:30 PM. Ambrosia is located at 10333 Seminole Blvd, Suite #1 in Seminole between Park Blvd and Ulmerton, one block north of Bryan Dairy/102 Street. You can see her invitation by clicking here. I ran into the “Wave” last night at The Land of Misfit Toys, errr, at a party closing down Ross Johnson’s campaign. Leslie is just as ebullient as she was when I worked for her campaigns for the Florida House. She was the rare candidate who set the agenda for the consultants rather than the other way around. And I think it’s a positive for the City of Seminole to have an experienced legislator like her on their Commission, especially in these dire economic times. Who better to lobby Tallahassee for state money? Of course, Leslie has her sights set on Dennis Jones’ Senate seat in four years, but so what? Four years of the Waters’ Wave is worth eight years of most anyone else.
