Harry Glenn, longtime top aide to the former U.S. Rep. C. W. Bill Young, has joined government relations firm Van Scoyoc Associates.
Glenn served as Young’s Chief of Staff for nearly 20 years, and has worked with the Congressman for 34 years, including the six years the Congressman served as Chair of the Appropriations Committee, as well as nine years as Chair of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee.
As a result, Glenn has deep experience with the appropriations process, especially focused on the fields of national security, biomedical research, health care, education, and infrastructure projects. Glenn was a member of Young’s immediate staff during the creation of the National Marrow Donor Program, blocking several efforts by Congress to MacDill Air Force Base, and the creation of the internationally recognized marine science research complex in St. Petersburg.
“We are excited to welcome Harry to VSA,” said President and CEO H. Stewart “Stu” Van Scoyoc. “For over 30 years, Harry served one of our nation’s most respected and influential lawmakers. We are fortunate to have his experience, knowledge, and strategic-thinking on our team.”
Glenn’s role at Van Scoyoc will be forging relationships with Florida companies and institutions, using his expertise with the state and its Congressional delegation.
“I am honored to be joining the exceptional group of professionals at Van Scoyoc Associates,” Glenn responded. “I am eager to use my knowledge of Capitol Hill and the federal agencies to continue to identify innovative solutions to problems and help clients implement strategies to succeed in Washington.”
