The Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) will reintroduce a proposed rule on enrolling patients into community-based service programs that it withdrew last week.
AHCA spokesperson Shelisha Coleman said in an email that the the agency withdrew proposed rule 59G-4.193, “in order to allow the (a)gency sufficient time to respond to comments received during the last public comment period.”
Concerns were raised by a number of special interest groups that the proposed rule exempts categories of people from having to go through a screening process. See story.
Florida Association of Health Plans Audrey Brown said in an email she appreciated AHCA taking the concerns that her association and others have registered with the agency.
The Agency held a rule development meeting on the rule June 25. It also held a workshop on the proposed rule in November.
“The rule will be reintroduced at a later date, once the Agency has addressed stakeholder concerns,” Coleman said.
