Mark Sharpe insisting he hasn’t endorsed Al Higginbotham as his successor in District 7

Did the Al Higginbotham campaign count is commissioners before they endorsed?

As previously reported, Higgonbotham’s campaign held a fundraiser at Shooters World on March 28. I raised questions then about the optics of hosting a political fundraiser at a gun range.

I was also disappointed to see moderate Republican County Commissioner Mark Sharpe on Higginbotham’s host committee.

Turns out, Sharpe hasn’t endorsed Higgonbotham.

Sharpe told La Gaceta‘s Patrick Manteiga that his name should not have been on the host committee list as he hasn’t endorsed anyone for the seat.

I agree with Manteiga’s assessment that Higgonbotham’s unauthorized use of Sharpe’s good name is, at best, wishful thinking and, at worst, a deceitful tactic.
