Matt Stewart, a deputy director for the Hillsborough Supervisor of Election, is holding onto his fundraising lead in the race for the Pinellas School Board’s District 1 seat.
Stewart, who is also an adjunct at St. Petersburg College, raised about $3,310 in May, bringing his campaign total to $12,350.
The other two candidates in the race, former St. Petersburg council member Bill Dudley and retired teacher Joanne Lentino, are in a horse race for second place. Lentino has nosed out Dudley with $7,730 total to Dudley’s $7,050 total.
District 1 is one of three at-large districts on the seven-member School Board. Voters from across Pinellas can vote in the race.
The seat is currently held by Janet Clark, who is in her third term of office. She has not filed to run.
